Summit Prep Academy

We are still finalizing the schedule for the upcoming school year. Our plan for the 2024-25 Season is as follows:

  • We will be offering Summit Prep to 6th-12th Graders
  • Players will have to apply to be in our program, it is free to apply.
  • Players will receive 2 days on the ice either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
  • Tentative On Ice Day Schedule
  • 12:45 PM - Arrive at the rink
  • 1:15-2:15 PM - On Ice
  • 2:30-3:15 PM - Classroom/Dryland
  • 3:15-4 PM - Study Hall
  • On the days they are not on the ice, Middle School Students will be in the Classroom with Summit Prep Staff at either the Breckenridge Recreation Center or Stephen C. West Ice Arena
  • High School Students will be on their own.
  • Players will need to be picked up by 4 PM each day of Prep
  • We will not be offering any programming on Fridays
  • We will follow the school calendar; we will not have Summit Prep if the kids do not have school.


Parents will be responsible for the Transportation of their athletes.

What classes do students need to take on-line?

6-7 humanities and science. 8th grade – language class. High School dependent on class schedule

Coach to player ratio?

At least 2 coaches will be at all practices.

How does study hall work? Does the child have to attend?

Study halls will be run by a volunteer parent, they are optional?

Will all athletes practice at the same time?

Yes, but they may be split up between ice, dryland and classroom

When does the school portion need to be submitted to school?

August 1st


Jerseys and Apparel

All Summit Prep players will receive a practice jerseys and workout clothes.

Summit Prep 24/25

Summit Prep is an academy program that gives Summit County Middle and High School hockey players an option to increase the tempo of their hockey skills development, facilitated through an academic athlete program twice a week for 24 weeks.

Summit Prep is available to players in grades 6th - 12th.

Price - $2,500
